Hey smuggers, partypants here. You may have noticed smugnom going down a lot lately. That’s because we are already at over 500K pageviews a month, more than the server can handle.
I have already upgraded the server once, but it’s really just growing too quickly for what I can afford. Please know that when I get some more contract work money I will upgrade the server again and stop all this overloaded nonsense. Also, please feel free to blame Conch since her excellent work here just keeps you smuggers coming back and killing it. I’ll be watching the server and restarting when needed until I can do the upgrade. In the meantime thanks for your patience.

Er…yeah, there is a “Send A Donation” link at the bottom of the page, but the thing is when you guys send donations via smugnom I just add them to Conch’s payment since she does most of the work here. And as I said, it wasn’t a call for money just wanted to let you guys know you don’t need to send emails, I’m aware it keeps going down and I’m trying to deal with it until I get paid. The server costs are my problem, not yours.

De-lurking to bring you something that I think you will be slightly let down by… Lynsie’s soup recipe! I am friends with her from school (and was horrified to discover via smugnom that she is actually FRIENDS with the KERF… vom.), and she recently started a blog on cutting grocery bills while remaining healthy. In her menu planning post she posted the recipe for the same white bean and greens soup that she brought to the Kerfrump. Definitely no cream or cheese involved, despite appearances :(

I just looked briefly at that chick’s website and I agree – the font is awful. But more importantly, did she admit publicly to feeding her family hot dogs? And Kathy is friends with her? I didn’t think Kathy associated herself with people who didn’t eat REAL FOOD.
I secretly hope when Lynsie brought over a meal for the new parents, she finely chopped up onions and lips and assholes (as we call hot dogs in my family) and buried them in the mess.

Not just the font, but what the fuck with the whole design? Does Lynsie want us to go back to the days of Geocities? She probably still uses Netscape, ugh.
As someone who also knows Lynsie from school (although I am not shocked she’s friends with Kerf, she was always nice to people, even jerks), I can say that her site is exactly the sort of website I would expect her to have.
But I did notice the sneaky onions in the soup! OMG Kerf ate onions CALL THE AUTHORITIES!
Actually today she changed the font and posted a note on facebook saying “check out the new font!” This makes me wonder whether she’s secretly a Smugnom/GOMI reader… maybe even contributor?
